The Protection of Historic Organs in England
In almost every mainland European country where organs represent a significant part of their musical history they are protected by law and preserved often with the help of the state. This is regardless of political colour, and eastern European countries formerly in the Soviet bloc, as far as they have been able have taken the same attitude as western states. England is one of very few countries having no such statutory protection or recognition that organs are important to our cultural heritage.
Includes illustrations and organ specifications.
